California last weekend was everything I needed it to be. Things have been going so much better with life and I just wanted to relax and enjoy our time at Tyler’s parent’s house. They are moving to Utah soon and so we wanted to dip our toes in their perfect pool and makes some memories. I needed something comfy and colorful for pooling and so I chose this burnt orange bell sleeved romper from Tobi.com. The weather wasn’t super hot so lounging around and dipping my toes was more of what actually went down than splashing away in the pool. We hung out in the hot tub and Scarlett loooooved it. She is my little fishy and dang does she look cute in a swimsuit.

Summer is finally here! I seriously can’t be more happy about it. It’s funny because my husband has had the air conditiong on since January and I have been so cold. Then a few days ago, it was 90+ outside and the air conditioning broke! I was melting in bed all night and thinking, “well Kirsten, you got your summer weather,” it just made me laugh.

I wanted to design a fun mood board that had bright colors and brought the summer feeling to my blog. I do a ton of moody stuff (because I love it) but its always nice to branch out and have some change in my life. Pinks, oranges and yellows with pops of green make me just want to bust out a picnic by the pool and drink some lemonade, yummmms.

Hopefully you are feeling this as much as me right now and are so happy to finally have the sun beaming down on your face. Don’t forget to listen to this perfect summer song

I have been finding a lot of fun free fonts lately and thought I would share them with you. The scripty old school type is really in and it reminds me of retro summer vacations so I found a bunch of songs that explained exactly the feeling these fonts give me. From The Beach Boys to Madonna they are vintage classics and I added a cover by Jack Johnson to help give it a touch of modernism. The first word is a link to the song and the second is the free font. Enjoy  making fun things with these this summer!

Well I pretty much love this post because I love all my greens, and I love my Ferngully movie, but that’s a different conversation. I just bought two plants for my house and it is looking so much more lively. In a basement apartment its hard to feel light and airy and plants are just the thing to do the job.

I currently work at American Crafts where I design a ton of patterns. It  has been really fun and I am learning how to use patterns in everything I do. I love seeing fern/foliage patterns on clothing shoes and interiors. I decided to make a fun background image for whoever wants a jungle on their screen or you can print it out and frame it. Do what you will, hope you love it!
