My kids were really wanting a playhouse and as soon as my neighbor said she would sell her old one to me I was ready to take on the project. I was at least five years old and had some serious warping with the wood but I decided to give it a good coat of white paint and then add the black details on the roof, seats and front doors to make the job quick without having to replace wook planks and roofing. Painting the house was SOOOOO much harder than I thought even with the tape it bled quite a bit so I would advise to buy or rent a spray paint machine and do it that way. I spent way too many hours painting and it still looked very sloppy but overall I got the outcome I wanted.

I used gold details in the handles and hooks and then bought the cutest solar lights to add that cottage vibe to it. I also bought the shutters and window basket from Hobby Lobby and then the little fake plants from Ikea. Last was the black door mat from Target. Inside I painted everything white and then added some rainbows and daisy as per my daughters request. She loved them even though they are pretty messy haha, but the colors were so cute in there. It was a total of about $300 for the house and the paint and decor and ended up so cute. My son and daughter really love it and it makes me so happy!

Corona got you down? Well hopefully you can find some good fun with the quick Easter place setting DIY. I got all of my paper goods from the dollar bin at Target but you can make or use what you have at home.

For the bunny ears watch the video in the link ABOVE for detailed instruction. You can use a paper or cloth napkin to make them. If you don’t have a napkin ring, use ribbon, string or a strip of cardstock paper taped into a loop like a paper chain. I used wooden eggs (also from the Target dollar bin) for the inside of the napkin. This can be replaced with a decorated egg, plastic egg or hard boiled egg. And last, the centerpiece. I just used the balloons I already had and some foliage from a vase in my house to layer. Use any other easter decor you have or everyday items that match your plates and it will look great!

This is the last crafting collection I worked on for Dear Lizzy and it just came out!! Woohoo! She was a delight to work with and has such a fun bright style. It’s a little bitter sweet but I feel good about where I am currently and the type of work I have now.

I loved coming up with new products like the cork bows and the gold and mint ticket roll. The fun lettering and the bright colors make for a really cute combination in florals and other products. If you love paper crafting and DIY projects you will LOVE this collection.

So most of you know I just moved into my new house and we are definitely on a budget for decorating. I decided to take it upon myself to diy my house starting with the dining room since that is a large focal point for our open floor plan. I started with the gold chandelier, which took me forever to find but when I saw the Anthropologie version my heart skipped a beat, seriously thats what happens to me when something is meant to be mine. The Anthro one is WAY more than I wanted to spend so I looked around and found an equally impressive runner up from a company called Stimulight for $350. The quality is really nice and the gold looks perfect, not too shiny.

Second I wanted to do a hairpin legged table. I was going for a midcentury modern feel in my house and thought the simple table would be perfect. I had thrifted an old table and chairs so I decided to take the top of and sand and stain it. I then ordered the legs from tablelegs.com for $25 per leg. Next were the chairs, I painted the metal areas and recovered the seats with a staple gun. It was really easy, you just need to make sure the gold paint is completely dry. Last were the details, I wanted a cowhide rug but I didn’t want to spend more than 200 dollars on it, most are around $350+ so this took a while. I saw that Ikea had some but I wanted the grey colours to pull through and they only had a brown or black one. Randomly when I stopped in one day, they had this grey one sitting there with the others. It was made for me!

I then picked up two of their largest frames $25 each and went home to my little marble tissue paper art. I found these gems from a random website called Papermojo. They make all kinds of paper and these marbled prints are actually tissue paper with silver and gold in them. A perfect way for me to pull in my mixed metals. Lastly, for the table stuff, where else would I go then Target for some cute little items so I bought a little greenery in a glass pot. Then I wanted a bit of geode so I got one from Urban Outfitters to add a touch of colour. I then dug through the boxes in the garage and found the little gold tray from my Grandpa’s estate sale to put it all on and viola! it was finished all under $900!

I am finally posting my first collection at American Crafts that I designed with a small team of amazing designers. At AC I design crafting materials for scrapbookers and diy crafters and everything in-between. I had the chance to work with Shimelle Laine, hospital who is one of the sweetest people to work with. She has a quirky fun personality and does classic style of crafting. She likes vintage and was inspired by retro colors and icons. Here is an overall feel of the collection, purchase everything from stickers to paper to the worlds cutest tape dispenser made out of wood! There are 48 total patterns but I just posted some of my favorites. I will be doing giveaways and showing you a bit more of this collection throughout. These products should be available for purchase at  Walmart or any craft store online.
