Hey eveybody! Today is a big day for me only because I am living my dream and doing West End Girl full time! I really can’t believe I made it to this point so soon in my career thanks to such a supportive husband. The gratitude and excitement I feel today makes me giggle like a school girl. I have been thinking a lot about the direction I want to go and what I want to do with my business and after hours of convo’s with my experienced friends and taking a ton of advice I think it just comes down to me. I AM ME and thats all I can be and so my blog is going to consist of all the things I love. I don’t want to change much about what I am doing but I am excited to be able to blog more regularly and add more fun fashion posts. As an artist I am interested in anything and everything even the slightest bit creative and therefore my range of hobbies is enormous! I plan to post about everything from my designs, styling, fashion and beauty to my love of interiors, diy, music, creative writing and of course me and my hub. I want this to be a platform where people can just enjoy what they are looking at and get great ideas for their own home or businesses. West End Girl is your one stop shop for creativity. It’s true, I am! It has been one year since I started this blog and I honestly have learned so much. Trial and error has been the way its done but I have seen so many blessings through it. I have met amazing people, learned how to be a better business woman, and ultimately become a much more talented designer. I am now confident in some of my weaknesses and know it is only the beginning for West End Girl. My husband has been so supportive and understanding when I am working and not spending time with him and through it, we have learned to better enjoy are time together. We finally moved into our new house and I am so excited to begin decorating. I am going to do a series of posts on my diy journey. I admit I am not much of a crafter believe it or not but Tyler and I are loving the process of decorating under a budget. We even went to an estate sale and bought some goodies so I am excited to use them.

I just watched one of my favorite classics Clueless and it brought back a million awesome memories. I have been seeing tons of clips and “Clueless” inspired outfits and music videos that are bringing in the 90’s! In tribute to that awesome film I made a little animated gif that I promised to make a while back. I used patterns from clothes and a special phrase from Cher.

I was thinking how much of a Monet this was but I don’t really mind. Like I was distracted by my husband who is such a Baldwin. He was telling me about how I looked like a dope Betty sitting here but it was driving me postal so I sent him on his way….whatever, I don’t care cause I’m gonna be a supermodel. Audi

This project was really fun to work with because the style he wanted was also my style which made it really easy and a great portfolio piece. It was my first album cover and now I want to do more. He wanted it to be simple with a neutral color palette and a pop of color. I felt like texture was a big part of making this project interesting when working with such a simple style. I ended up using my favorite for my portfolio, there’s just something about black that gets me. Check out Lowell Crabb on spotify and iTunes soon. I will update this link when he comes out with his music. As far as my musical inspiration in designing this, I had to go with Sam Smith…perfection.
