My kids were really wanting a playhouse and as soon as my neighbor said she would sell her old one to me I was ready to take on the project. I was at least five years old and had some serious warping with the wood but I decided to give it a good coat of white paint and then add the black details on the roof, seats and front doors to make the job quick without having to replace wook planks and roofing. Painting the house was SOOOOO much harder than I thought even with the tape it bled quite a bit so I would advise to buy or rent a spray paint machine and do it that way. I spent way too many hours painting and it still looked very sloppy but overall I got the outcome I wanted.
I used gold details in the handles and hooks and then bought the cutest solar lights to add that cottage vibe to it. I also bought the shutters and window basket from Hobby Lobby and then the little fake plants from Ikea. Last was the black door mat from Target. Inside I painted everything white and then added some rainbows and daisy as per my daughters request. She loved them even though they are pretty messy haha, but the colors were so cute in there. It was a total of about $300 for the house and the paint and decor and ended up so cute. My son and daughter really love it and it makes me so happy!
