My wedding photographer Alixann Loosle, asked me to help her out with her 4th of July summer wedding themed shoot. Of course I said yes, because she is so amazing and it is different than any wedding I had done before so I new it would be a really fun project. Lucky for us, the pictures were the 4th of July feature on Style Me Pretty blog, the largest wedding blog in the world.
The theme was very hipster and natural. Kind of the home cooked meal thing with some sexy grunge mixed in. The models were all so beautiful and if you look closely, you will see me in a few pics. I was worried about the shoot because it was pouring rain and really dark out but we got a window of about 30 minutes and she shot the whole thing. I was so impressed with the flowers and how everything just came together. It was shot on the west side of Salt Lake City in a rose garden. The garden was magical and had every kind of flower you could imagine. I think it had been there for years…like a hundred. The age brought a vintage touch and made it feel more east coast which is what we wanted.
For the invitations, I was told to do navy, Kinfolk inspired and to incorporate roses somehow. I knew that meant very clean and classic. Kinfolk is totally hipster but with a sort of East Coast class. I chose a style that looked like very expensive stationary from the 50’s. I picture business men or people at a country club having the typography that I did on this invitation written on their business cards. I think thats what hipster is all about, vintage mixed with young makes hipster. The song I chose is a great love song about two young people in love from he film Endless Love by one of my fav artists The Bird and the Bee.
Invitation suite available in my shop.
