This shoot was crazy because we did it last minute and all on my iPhone! The kids were crying and crawling everywhere but with a tripod, an iwatch and lots of patience we got some goodies. Love this giant family of mine.

Party Video

Tonight was wonderfully stressful. I had this huge vision in my head of the twins “simple” yet cute party and things kept coming up and changing to the point where I had to give up my vision.

It’s funny I felt like I hardly took any pictures of all the work I had put into it and yet these ones of me and Ari were my favorite (no work). It just shows how distracted we can get from the whole focus in the first place. These girls have lived a year, and our family has conquered some difficult things! The details are such an important part for me but at the end of the day it’s family, always family that make the memories.

My gosh I can’t believe we made it through the first year with four kids! It has been so hard and so lovely with these sweet additions. The wild flower theme seemed fitting for these babes considering their names remind me of flowers. Ari (blue BELLE) 💙and Olivia ( ROSE) 🌹. I used lots of crepe paper flowers and silk ribbon with as many poppies as I could get. Although I didn’t get to make it exactly the way I wanted, it still turned out wildly fun 😜.

Wow this was such a crazy day doing both of my children’s parties together but soooo worth it. Mason loved every minute of the bounce house and spider man and Scarlett, well I barely saw her she was running around with a huge smile on her face. She lives for princesses and presents!

I made some fun posters like the the map of the party and the welcome sign that turned out so cute! Because I designed these fun details I thought I’d give some of them to you for free so they get used more than once. I have the pennants in large and small and the little signs I made for the food table and other areas. Tag me in your photos if you end up using them! THX

Who’s to say living through your child is wrong. Haha, Scarlett said she wanted a tea party in grandma’s backyard so I ran with it and turned into my dream tea party. I seriously had so much fun planning this one. I wanted to use a lot of color so I turned to the master’s and picked monet’s water lilies as my color inspo (seen in my invitation suite), its kind of a muted floral theme with dried flowers and dusty rainbow colors. I wanted it to feel like a garden party but with a little bit of magic so the butterfly theme really hit home for me. I found most of my stuff on Amazon (links below) and the dollar store and fabric store so it ended up being really affordable.

Coming up with unique details was important to me because I love being creative and I thrive on new ideas so I decided to do the dried flowers under the clear glass plates. This was super simple and had a big effect on the table setting. I also wanted to make the cake arch out of dried flowers and edible butterflies to connect each of the small cakes. My only regret with this is not having two of the same height cake pedestals. If you end up doing this same concept consider two of the same height. I also did a glue gun wax seal on the invitation with dried flowers below and it turned out awesome! A great DIY idea.

I also wanted it to be more intimate and with Covid happening, I only had 6 little girls at the party. That way I could do more for the activities than if there were a ton of people there. I made little tutu skirts for each girl and then they bedazzled them with gems. I just used the ones with sticky backs so all ages could participate (I had 2-6 year olds there). Our other activity was beading pearl necklaces to get ready for tea. For the final table setting I out the cake as the centerpiece and bought this cute crinkled runner down the middle to add some color and then sprinkled my flowers around in the white tent with paper butterflies (a must). They were the perfect touch to making it feel magical and the girls absolutley loved sitting below them.

We had so much fun with this theme and I would totally do it again if she asks in the future. Good times with good people make good memories.

I LOVE Christmas time and since I’m home so much and working around Scarlett’s naps, I get bored so all I want to do is decorate. I wanted to do Scarlett’s room because I feel like there are so many simple ideas you can do to spice up a room with most of the items you already have plus some cute additions and details.

For the crib I just used a pretty silver tree branch from Home Goods and put my most favourite target ribbon that I am so obsessed with on it. I then added a little piece of string and clipped all of my Parabo Press pics to it. If you haven’t noticed, that is my thing this year. I love the square prints they offer and I used them in several ways this christmas. This is not a sponsored post, I just love them so much I wanted to let you know my deep LOVE for printed goods and how they spice up any decor.

For her changing table (which she never uses cause she wiggles around so much she would fall off), I put a little mexican nativity my husband bought me on our honeymoon. I used paper cut snowflakes which I cut with my silhouette cameo machine and then just used everyday items for the rest of the table.

My overall style was the blush, black and cream plaid style this year and I love it. The Hearth and Hand collection at Target is killing me! I can’t stop buying stuff (which I’m sure my husband just loves haha). If you have a chance check it out, you will love everything! I am going to post my main Christmas soon so keep an eye out. Merry Christmas!

Target: Ribbon, pink ribbon, tiny pasel ornaments, stocking holder houses, stocking, plaid bag

Lamb rocker: Macey’s Grocery store ( I saw it above the meat section! haahaaaaa)

Mini Tree: Walmart (only 10 dollars) in store similar

I have been HORRIBLE at posting recently. I honestly looked in my drafts box and saw all of these half done posts that I thought I posted so I am really going to try and go crazy this next month and get caught up. That being said, my favourite post is this one because it means so much to me. As you know, if you read my blog, the last year of my life has been super hard for us in so many ways; my baby, post pardum issues with me and my dad’s cancer to name a few. I honestly can say this year could not have gone by fast enough. I am so glad we made it to her first year and things are settling down or maybe we are just adjusting but I am glad the hardest part is over. Scarlett is honestly the most fun loving baby ever. She loves to play and laugh, she is beyond curious and sharp as a tac. I can’t get away with anything, and I mean anything! She is so obsevant she knows what’s going on all of the time so I think she may be the child that whips me into shape with all of my follies (never used that word before but it seemed just right).

Now for the decor. Well, I knew I wanted to do a “one”derland theme but not Alice and Wonderland or a winter wonderland so I did a dream wonderland. I was feeling the Peter Pan vibes of them in that boat that floats through the stars. I wanted the colors to be soft so I did the light pink, white and clear balloons with gold glitter in them and then added a few darker pink ones for texture. THIS IS THE TUTORIAL for the balloon arch that I coppied almost exactly. She has all of the stuff you need to buy and clear instructions. It was actually pretty easy. I just used two thumb tacs and tied it to the wall, so it leaves minimal destruction :).  I also wanted little stars everywhere so I just bought glitter paper at Hobby Lobby and cut out a whole bunch of stars. Then I taped them to the walls and to some fishing line (which you use in the balloon arch) and hung them over my chandelier. For the other little details like the gold banner, gold and silver paper plates and napkins, I just found at Walmart in their party section. The banner was about $3 so really everything was soooo affordable.

I wanted to add a special detail to her party so I worked with Parabo Press, one of my favourite collaborators (you know me and paper), and made a cute banner or her monthly growth pictures + a few more cute ones and a sweet hard cover book for people to write something sweet in about Scarlett. I want her to see the picture book and read all the fun things people wrote and have a special memory of this time in her life. I printed the most beautiful family pics of Scarlett when she was 6 months old by Kristina Curtis Photography. I seriously loved how everything turned out and I could not be more happy with the memories. And like always Parabo has been so awesome to offer you a 25% discount of your order with the code THING at checkout. If you are wanting photobooks for Christmas gifts, you will want to jump on this opportunity. They books are only $25!!!!!

It has literally taken me a year to post this beauty but here it is! Everything about this Tuscan inspired shoot was perfect from the model to the food. This is actually the place I had my wedding reception so it was fun to go back and relive everything and see the changes they had made to the gardens. I loved working with this amazing crew on this project and was excited to do navy and gold ink on the silk and willow hand made paper for the paper goods. I love how they turned out and how they added a little raw beauty to the table design.
